Duty Description

Senior Instructor as a member of a SOF Field and Training Team (FTT) providing support to the Fielding Services Branch of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. With the requirements to facilitate, educate, train, and conduct test & evaluation on all new equipment for SOF personnel. Perform as a SOF FTT instructor for all weapons systems, aiming devices, sighting systems, and ancillary equipment programs provided by PEO-SW and NSWC Crane Indiana to the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) forces. The SOF FTT trainer position will be located at Crane, IN or Ft. Bragg, NC and requires frequent travel to locations in the continental United States. Candidate will assist in updating and/or developing training curriculums and Program of Instructions (POI). This position requires OCONUS and deployment support, all Senior Instructors must be willing to support up to six month long deployments.

Qualifications/Experience

Must be US Citizen

5 years’ instructor experience with 3 years’ instructing SOF Weapons, SOPMOD and other SOF equipment to conduct classroom instruction and conduct range demonstrations,

Preferably former combatant SOF Operator, who can interact with technicians, logisticians, high-level government and military officials, and SOF Operators to develop and monitor New Equipment Training (NET) and Logistical requirements and specifications for new combat systems.

Graduate of a Core Unique Instructor Training (CUIT), for high risk Navy programs.

Must possess in-depth knowledge of night vision, lasers, weapons, and weapon sight technologies, capabilities and weaknesses, in-depth and actual operational knowledge and must include all three SOF and Marine Corp environmental applications including sniper applications.

Must possess in-depth knowledge of current industry technology as well as developing or future technologies and integration.

Must possess in-depth knowledge of SOF Weapons, SOPMOD/MDNS programs, their history, objectives, and future directions.

Must be proficient in vehicle driving and maintenance.

Must be proficient in pyrotechnic and demolitions materials

Must possess in-depth knowledge of current industry technology as well as developing or future technologies and integration.

Must possess in-depth knowledge of SOF Weapons, SOPMOD/MDNS programs, their history, objectives, and future directions.

Must have Basic First Aid and CPR certification (TCCC).

Duties and Responsibilities

- Candidate will be a member of the Network Assurance (NA) Team (DISA GSM-O program).
- Candidate will support NA Activities within CONUS.
- Candidate will work closely with Govt counterparts in support of the CND-SP area.
- Candidate will provide CND reports, trends, responses, mitigations, analysis & information dissemination.
- Candidate will provide C2 support, situational awareness support, and provide support for all CND applicable activities within Protect, Detect, Respond, and Sustain.
- Candidate will support efforts within a performance-based environment with pre-determined Acceptable Levels of Performance (ALP’s).
- Candidate will support the development, documentation and tracking of measurements & metrics relevant to the ALP’s.
- Candidate interfaces with Govt counterparts, both CONUS & OCONUS, along with LM and sub team members.
- Candidate will be a member of the CND-SP Team, responsible for maintaining the integrity & security of enterprise-wide systems & networks.
- Candidate will be a member of CND Team supporting security initiatives through predictive & reactive analysis, and by articulating emerging trends to leadership & staff.
Note CND Team duties include but are not limited to
Detect
++ Employ advanced forensic tools & techniques for network attack reconstruction
++ Perform network traffic analysis utilizing raw packet data, net flow, IDS, IPS and custom sensor output, as it pertains to the cyber security of communications networks
++ Correlate actionable security events from various sources, including Security Information Management System (SIMS) data & develop unique correlation techniques
++ Utilize knowledge of attack signatures, tactics, techniques and procedures to aid in the detection of Zero-Day attacks
Response
++ Participate in the coordination of resources during enterprise incident response efforts
++ Interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence community & other government agencies
++ Provide limited analysis of incidents for the customers by determining the incidents’ nature and formulating responses; identifying & providing the ability to surge during emergencies; correlating event & incident data; determining possible effects on the DISN, customer networks & other organizations
Sustain
++ Review threat data from various sources & aid in the development of custom signatures for Open Source & COTs IDS
++ Provide CND server admin & maintenance of the EMS workstations, servers, intrusion detection systems, and other associated equipment
++ Assess server security posture
++ Ensure security plan compliance
++ Ensure configuration changes do not adversely impact the server security
++ Perform NA-related audits & logging
++ Implement Vulnerability Mgmt System (VMS) and IAVA compliance
++ Monitor servers
++ Provide user administration & logistics support
++ Install, configure & monitor CND security-relevant network components
++ Ensure that C&A reqs are satisfied; manage reqs for class & unclass networks
++ Perform infrastructure monitoring and performance assessment & new req analysis and support
++ For new equipment order, inspect & inventory the equipment; determine outside support installation
reqs; update equipment security information
++ Maintain the Integrated Configuration & Tracking System (ICATS) & other configuration databases, ensure security posture integrity during system outages, coordinate configuration changes with the DAA for changes in security posture or status, and maintain security documentation for HW & SW baselines & maintenance logs
Protect
++ Provide support to serviced components & appropriate Govt oversight entities by implementing DoD-wide Red Team notifications, reports, assessments, coordination, information collection, performance measurement, reqs identification, & feedback
++ Monitor the implementation of IAVAs
++ De-conflict component & information specific IAVA guidance
- Candidate should have at least one other IA certification completed, i.e., SSCP, CSIH, GCIA, GCIH or CEH.
- Candidate should be ITIL v3 Foundation certified.
- Candidate should have DISA experience.
- Candidates with experience and/or training in Lockheed Martin’s Intelligence Driven Defense and/or Cyber Kill Chains, a plus.

The Mission Systems Integration Operation has an opening for an Information Assurance Security Engineer in support of a Mission Assurance Category (MAC) II Classified capability for our U.S. Air Force customer.

The qualified candidate will provide key leadership and direction for the SAIC Team on all topics, practices, policies and procedures related to Information Assurance, including DIACAP C&A, Vulnerability Management, System Security Engineering and Program Protection Planning.

Qualifications
• Be knowledgeable in the DIACAP C&A documentation and processes and shall interact with both the contractor Software Development and Systems Engineering Team as well as the Government.
• Be able to develop and demonstrate an IA approach that considers appropriate defenses to threats and ensures data availability, integrity, authentication, and confidentiality IAW Department of Defense (DoD) 8500-series requirements.
• Help demonstrate alignment of the software architecture and design with current IA requirements/processes and provide a documented secure solution that meets the requirements for C&A using the Air Force implementation of DIACAP.
• Initiate and maintain accountability for protective or corrective measures when an Information Assurance incident or vulnerability is discovered.
• Be able to develop and update Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M)
• Be able to conduct a criticality analysis and provide a Criticality Analysis Report to identify mission-critical functions that may result in Level I or Level II protection failures due to operational, system information, or component integrity aspects.
• Be able to develop and document all IA test procedures in an IA Assessment Plan
• Be familiar with DoD security tools such as DISA’s Gold Disk
• Be Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certified IAW Table C3.T4 of DoD manual 8570.01-M.
• Develop a Vulnerability Management Plan (VMP) to demonstrate how Technical Compliance Network Orders (TCNO), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts(IAVAs), hot fixes, and patches will be tested, integrated into the baseline and deployed to the field on a quarterly or more frequent cycle.
• Demonstrate capacity for organization, prioritization and management in a dynamically changing environment
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills and certifications
- A current Air Force (AF) Common Access Card, an active AF Portal account and an active eMASS account
• Experience supporting USAirForce
• Certifications IASAE III (CISSP – ISSEP or CISSP – ISSAP)

Education

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of business related information assurance experience. Relevant years of experience can be substituted for a degree.
